It was added to Fortress Blast in version 4.0 and is a completely original powerup. It is an exceedingly rare powerup, having a default spawning chance of 0.1%, which is controlled by the [[ConVars|ConVar]] <code>[[sm_fortressblast_ultra_rate]]</code>. Up until version 5.0, the powerup was simply coloured white, the brightest powerup of all, but with the release of 5.0, it now cycles between 8 colours within 2 seconds: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple and magenta.
